What a fantastic start for Roth given the fixtures they’ve had!. 👏🏻👏🏻. Your lads are back where they belong RM2. I know it’s a few weeks away yet but I’m already getting that horrible feeling thinking about the first derby of the season at the Lane at the start of December. The Roth boys are on fire at the moment.

Thank you DKF
Did you watch the game?

I feel I owe the club an apology. That is the first game I tipped us to lose, but I think we controlled the game and to be fair could have had a few more tries but we kicked (in my humble opinion) too much away at times, but it kept them on the back foot I guess.
It wasn’t that I expected us to lose, it’s a case of the unknown, but we were well worth the win.
Anyway I figured that being at the top of the prediction league (well I was last week) I’d give everyone a chance to catch up.😜

Oh and thank you for Russell Bennett. What a player he is. controlled the game.

I watched some of your game yesterday but unfortunately you made that mistake at the scrum right at the end and that unfortunately was the difference & the top teams are relentless.

I think with the top teams you need a bit of luck to end up on the right side of the Scoreline and yes we did ride our luck at the end with both Cov & Bedford who are great teams, but in both games I think we deserved the win.
Worcester were a different class and I would imagine so are Ealing by the way they put nearly 60 on Blackheath who are also a fine team.

Don’t get too despondent DKF you had a fantastic win last week and on your day Donny can beat anyone, and I do mean anyone.

All the best my friend.

Rotherham better get building another 9,000+ seats.

It's the only thing shopping them from being in the prem next season

Good to hear from you Storty.

Thanks but no thanks.

Only Billionaires / Global conglomerates need apply.

My friend Faithful City who I have known for many years over on the Worcester Warriors Sportnetwork site has written some brilliant articles.

Have a read of the following and you will find them illuminating.

You never have to apologise RM2 you were being realistic. I will always back Roth blindly but I did think today was going to be extremely difficult and Mond were targeting us rightly as a win. Mond could have turned it at any point and I do believe they are in a false position. We are adjusting to the Champ and we still have a lot to learn and a lot to improve upon.

Thanks DKF we can't wait to reignite the South Yorkshire derby. We have greatly missed the Roth Vs Donny games. Both clubs benefit from the fixtures and it makes for a fantastic game of Rugby every time. We have had a great start, the positive thing is there are many areas where we can improve but we can't get ahead of ourselves as we have been on the right side of some very close games and things can quickly change in this division.
a handful of tries can be the difference between top 6 and bottom 3.

Great weekend of Rugby once again. All the best everyone and good luck for the next fixtures.

I was at the Pirates game on the weekend v Chinnor.
The scoreline doesn’t really reflect the game at all. As a Pirates supporter I thought we’d be in for an arm wrestle but still prove too good for Chinnor. I was quite wrong.

Chinnor were very good value. Their defence for 90% of the game was rock solid and Pirates struggled to find a way through.

Chinnor No.4 was excellent in the lineout, repeatedly pinching Pirates’ ball. Pirates’ poor discipline also meant they were under a lot of pressure for much of the first half.

I struggled to understand the referee’s interpretation of the scrum, and I think a few Chinnor fans would agree with me. It felt like he took far too long getting the scrum set.

In the end, potentially the better fitness of the Pirates side combined with a bit of luck meant the difference in the end.

Fair play to Chinnor, they will do well this season. Very worried about our away trip there.

Noticed that the RFU have not awarded Roth the bonus point yet so we are listed as 5th. Was at the RAG and I have friends who are life long supporters of Mond and they are my second favourite club. It was a strange feeling supporting the opposition (Roth) against a club I have seen quite often over the last 5 years. It is a really great club with a real family feel to it. I think they will get their season going soon. They have have a tough run in and after perhaps struggling to make in-roads against Roth in the first half, they effectively drew the second half with a better defensive display. Roth had to be sharp in defense second half as well.

For Roth it has been a fantastic start. I think we all knew that Harvey and his team would recruit well and prepare well and we would end up comeptative, but I think we have exceeded expectations in terms of results. We never lose sight of the fact that 2 of our wins were very tight and could have gone either way really but we have put ourselves in that position to expolit that bit of luck and also that extra fire to charge down a conversion and be victorious. The season can change, with the BPs harder to come by and every match a huge challenge. We are still finding our feet and, we havent fully clicked yet, so plenty left in the tank.

If the RFU haven’t added the extra try bonus point on their website yet Rothoik I suggest you have three tries more. That should work.

See what I did there. 😜😂

On a more serious note I hear what you are saying about tight wins but there is a serious difference between winning the tight games.
and losing them.

That consistent ability to get over the line is what distinguishes between success and failure or winners versus plucky losers. Also you can’t over emphasise the psychological factor which continues the building of momentum. It completely changes the mindset.

Roth have had the ability to WIN the tight games, yes there may be luck but the best teams in the world have to have an element of that. However it’s that never say die, leave it all out there mentality that builds teams into an irresistible force.
