On Saturday Lions travelled to Oundle for their first away game of the season. Oundle are now coached by Lions ex-coach, Gareth Collins.
The game started with some well balanced play between the two sides.
After 19 mins Oundle conceded a penalty for a high tackle which Lions flyhalf Max Titchener slotted between the posts for Lions to take the lead at 3-0.
Oundle soon responded with a try by ex-Lions player flyhalf Ben Young, converted by himself, to give Oundle a 7-3 lead.
Lions retaliated with a try by winger Matt Price, converted by Titchener, for Lions to take back the lead at 10-7.
Oundle came back at Lions with a driving try by second row, Kieran Frost, with Young adding the extras, to take Oundle back into the lead at 14-10, leading up to the break.

Again the beginning of the second half started out as being well balanced, but Oundle's heavier pack was starting to gain the upper hand.
In the final quarter of the game this told on Lions who defended valiantly but were outplayed by Oundle.
In the final 15 minutes Oundle ran in four tries by backrow Seth Roberts, replacement Grant Snelling, replacement ex-Lions Finlay Ogden and centre Fraser Strachan, with replacement Jamie Annand adding three conversions to take the final score to 40-10.

A deserved win by Oundle who wore Lions down in the final quarter, In spite of this Lions did show application and commitment throughout the game.
Next weekend, on Saturday 19th September 2026, Lions welcome Jersey to Westleigh Park. 2pm Kick Off
