London Irish
Re: London Irish
Thoough if a new side is invited into the league, there would presumably only be one promotion place that season.
Re: London Irish
Sorry but I can’t agree with this.

To be the best of their ability, and to play to the highest standard.......Cheshire Exile wrote: Sat Oct 24, 2026 12:11 pm If that’s the case why do Nat1 clubs aspire to promotion to the Championship?
Re: London Irish
Nope.Cheshire Exile wrote: Sat Oct 24, 2026 4:50 pm You don’t think that using the word “corrupt “ is perhaps a little strong when 13 of the clubs are there on merit and have little influence outside their own internal issues?
There certainly wasn’t any move to stop the top two from Nat 1 coming up, unlike the ringfenced Premiership.

Re: London Irish
Always loved away trips to play the not nots.
I'd have them back in the champ in a heart beat.
I wouldn't ditch promotion or relegation, I would, instead, increase the numbers of our league by two and abandon the play-offs that no-one really wants. Everybody would benefit financially and it would re-validate finishing top, something I think everybody probably wants.
Would I invite Wasps back in when they are ready ?
Of course I would. We need to take a lesson from the French and add interest and market our product however best we can.
I know the traditional diehards sniffed with distaste when the Worcester "Cuckoos" landed in the nest, but not one club complained about gate or bar receipts on matchdays.
The Champ is a fantastic league where anybody can beat anyone on their day. Let's use anything we can to raise its profile.

I would draw the line at Wasps but I would say Cov supporters are best placed to comment about them.Southstand wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2026 5:34 pm Always loved away trips to play the not nots.

Re: London Irish
Talking about heart beats, a reinvigorated Moseley would be my top pick for local rivals in an enlarged Champ.
Cov have got their own brand of "Crazies" but this seems to be restricted to a small band of keyboard warriors.
There's even genuine warmth in abundance between us and our old pals from Roth.
No, the Champs becoming far too "nice". We need Moseley back in it.

There are indeed a couple that you might (from your perspective) describe as crazies, and fair enough, I'm not going to argue.Southstand wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 9:55 am Talking about heart beats, a reinvigorated Moseley would be my top pick for local rivals in an enlarged Champ.

However; glass houses - you will insist on sending your own nutjobs over to the Cov forum.
